Bodegas de Santo Tomas was founded just after Ensenada was designated the Capital of Baja California in 1888 starting with 140 hectares of vineyards by that time, becoming the first winery established in Northwestern Mexico. Producing at that time white, red, muscatel and port type wines.
Nowadays the expansion of the land reach 268 hectares of vineyards divided in three valleys around Valle de Guadalupe (an agricultural region in Ensenada) and 120,000 Cases of annual production.
The wine production now reach different type of varieties as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Barbera, Tempranillo, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Grenache, Viognier, French Colombard, Carignan, and Pét-Nat.
