What is MXN Wines?

MXN Wines is a UK-based importer specialising in exclusive Mexican wines.

We bring carefully selected wines from Mexico to the UK, offering customers something distinctive, high-quality and different from the usual wine selection.


Where are your wines from?

Our wines are from Mexico, one of the oldest wine-producing countries in the Americas.

Our current range includes wines from Baja California, one of Mexico’s most recognised wine regions.


Is Mexican wine good?

Yes. Mexican wine is becoming increasingly recognised for its quality, character and diversity.

Mexico produces excellent reds, whites and rosés, often with rich fruit, freshness, complexity and a distinctive sense of place.


Is Mexican wine new?

Mexican wine may be new to many UK customers, but Mexico has a long winemaking history dating back centuries.

Today, Mexican wineries are producing modern, high-quality wines that are gaining attention internationally.


Ordering

Can I buy wine directly from your website?

Yes. You can buy our wines directly through www.mxnwines.co.uk.

Simply choose your wines, add them to your basket and complete checkout.


Do I need to be over 18 to order?

Yes. You must be 18 years old or over to buy alcohol from our website.

By placing an order, you confirm that you are at least 18 and that the person receiving the delivery is also at least 18.


Will I need ID when my wine is delivered?

You may be asked for valid photographic ID on delivery.

Our couriers may use a Challenge 25 policy. This means that if the recipient appears under 25, they may be asked to prove they are 18 or over.

Accepted ID may include a passport, photocard driving licence or PASS-approved proof-of-age card.


Can I send wine as a gift?

Yes, you can send wine as a gift, provided the recipient is 18 or over and available to accept the delivery.

The recipient may be asked to show ID when the parcel is delivered.


Can I order wine for a restaurant, wine bar or business?

Yes. We welcome enquiries from restaurants, wine bars, hotels, retailers and other trade customers.

Delivery

Where do you deliver?

We deliver within the United Kingdom, subject to courier availability and alcohol delivery restrictions.

Some remote areas, including parts of the Scottish Highlands and Islands, may take longer or may have limited delivery options.


How long does delivery take?

Typical delivery time is:

Standard delivery: 2–5 working days

Delivery times are estimates and may vary depending on your location, courier availability, public holidays or weather conditions.


How much does delivery cost?

Delivery costs are shown at checkout before you place your order.

Delivery charges may vary depending on your order size, delivery location and selected delivery method.


Can alcohol be left in a safe place?

We do not recommend safe-place delivery for alcohol orders.

Because wine is an age-restricted product, someone aged 18 or over should be available to receive the parcel.

If you request safe-place delivery or delivery to a neighbour, concierge, reception or other third party, responsibility may pass to you once the courier follows your instructions.


What happens if nobody is available to receive the delivery?

If nobody aged 18 or over is available to receive the parcel, the courier may attempt redelivery, leave collection instructions, or return the parcel to us.

If the parcel is returned to us due to failed delivery, failed age verification, refusal of delivery, or incorrect address details, additional delivery or return charges may apply.


What happens if I enter the wrong delivery address?

Please check your delivery address carefully before placing your order.

If an incorrect or incomplete address is provided, we cannot guarantee that the parcel can be redirected once dispatched.

If the order is returned to us, delivery, return and handling costs may be deducted from any refund.


Returns and Refunds

Can I return my order if I change my mind?

For most online orders, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of receiving your goods.

To be eligible for a change-of-mind return, products must be:

  • unopened;
  • sealed;
  • unused;
  • in their original packaging;
  • in a resaleable condition.

Opened bottles or bottles with broken seals cannot be returned for change-of-mind reasons.


Who pays for return postage?

For change-of-mind returns, you are responsible for return postage costs.

We recommend using a tracked and insured service suitable for glass bottles and alcohol.


What if my wine arrives damaged?

Please contact us as soon as possible if your order arrives damaged, leaking or broken.

  • your order number;
  • photos of the damaged product;
  • photos of the outer packaging;
  • photos of the courier label;
  • a short description of the issue.

Where damage is confirmed, we will offer a replacement, refund or appropriate solution.


What if I receive the wrong wine?

Include your order number and photos of the item received.

If we have sent the wrong product, we will arrange an appropriate solution.


What if the wine tastes faulty or corked?

If you believe a wine is faulty or corked, please contact us as soon as possible.

Please keep the bottle, closure and remaining wine where possible, as we may need this to assess the issue.


Wine Information

Are your wines dry or sweet?

Most of our wines are dry unless stated otherwise on the product page.

Each product page includes tasting notes to help you choose the right wine.


What temperature should I serve the wine?

As a general guide:

  • White wine: serve chilled, around 7–10°C
  • Rosé wine: serve chilled, around 8–10°C
  • Red wine: serve slightly cool, around 14–18°C

Avoid serving red wine too warm, as this can make it taste heavier and more alcoholic.


How should I store my wine?

Wine should be stored in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight, heat and freezing temperatures.

Once delivered, you are responsible for storing the wine correctly.


How long does wine last once opened?

As a general guide:

  • White wine: 2–3 days in the fridge
  • Rosé wine: 2–3 days in the fridge
  • Red wine: 2–4 days in a cool place or fridge

Use a wine stopper where possible and keep the bottle sealed after opening.


Do you provide food pairing suggestions?

Yes. Our product pages include tasting notes and pairing suggestions.

Mexican wines pair beautifully with a wide range of food, including seafood, grilled meats, chicken, pasta, cheeses, Mexican dishes and Mediterranean-style cuisine.

Payments and Promotions

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept the payment methods shown at checkout.

Orders must be paid in full before dispatch.


Do your prices include VAT?

Prices include VAT where applicable, unless stated otherwise.

Can I use a discount code?

Yes, if you have a valid discount code, you can enter it at checkout.
